2021 is finally here! Not only does that mean we can leave 2020 in the dust, it also means it's time to get your tax return together, because it's almost tax season!
If you know you're getting a tax refund this year, then it makes sense to file your taxes as soon as possible.
But here's what you don't want. You don't want to file your tax return, see you're getting a big refund, and then have to wait weeks for that refund check to arrive in the mail. What if a weather event impacts mail delivery? What if it gets lost? Then it has to be reissued and you're left waiting even longer.
So here's how you can avoid delays.
1) Grab your Fancard Prepaid Mastercard®
Don't have a Fancard Prepaid Mastercard®? Order one right now using the button below. It won't take long!
If you already have a Fancard, great! Open up the Fancards Mobile App or log in to your account online and find your Fancard routing and account numbers by clicking the button that says "Direct Deposit."
2) Write down your Routing and Account Numbers
This is important! Your routing and account numbers are how the IRS knows where to send your tax refund. Also, please note that your Fancard Prepaid Mastercard qualifies as a "Checking" account, so make sure to check the box that says "Checking" when filling in your routing and account numbers on your tax return.
3) File Your Return and Use your Fancard Routing and Account Numbers
Now it's time to file your tax return! You can file your taxes online, on paper by yourself, or with the assistance of a tax professional. Once your tax return is complete and submitted to the IRS, your return will be processed and your tax refund will be reviewed and issued. This process typically takes anywhere from 3-6 weeks.
While Fancards does not know the status of your tax refund, the IRS has a handy refund status tracker, which you can use right here to check on when your tax refund should be deposited to your Fancard.
So this year, get your tax refund on your Fancard Prepaid Mastercard, and make this tax season as stress-free as possible!
